Over 40 Lost 30 is a sensitive, revealing and uplifting journey through a deeply personal story of loss, learning and life. It is also a practical plan for us all as we navigate our own losses and remember that everything painful that we have experienced in the past has made us who we are today.

The movement on Death and Dying reached notoriety in the late 1960's with Elizabeth Kubler Ross' five stages of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. While Ross was concerned with our death from an ontological point of view, that is, as non-being, Bell bypasses the early stages and asks us to do something about it.
After each chapter, the reader is asked to apply principles, on himself/herself, using one's own crossroads. In this way, each one of us can take control of our lives, and, in the tradition of Nietzsche, we can say YES to life.

I'm so impressed how Bell overcame her sense of vulnerability in sharing her stories. It was extremely insightful and thought-provoking, and certainly provided a balanced and logical process to work through in terms of overcoming loss.
